New fire engine on the way

Governor whacks $157K from Wellesley local aid
Gov. Patrick today announced his broad plan for cutting costs for this year and and a restrained budget for next. For this year, Wellesley loses about $157K in local aid.

Time to sign up for summer youth programs
Wellesley offers youngsters (entering grades 6, 7, the chance to learn about police work and firefighting in a series of free summer programs. Number of participants is limited. Registration has begun and participants will be chosen via lottery. WCAC-TV also will have a summer youth program. See Recreation Department for more details and applications.
