Perhaps lost in the recent fiscal year 2010 budget presentation made by Wellesley school superintendent Bella Wong before the school committee was a proposal to add a Wellesley High boys volleyball team (her plan also included a proposed increase in athletic user fees).
Of course, the volleyball team plan could still get spiked. After all, Wong is hoping for a 4.72% budget increase (growing enrollment and other factors are behind that) even though Wellesley’s finance director recently warned that the town’s overall finances are “$3 million out of balance…” in light of the tough economy, projected lower state aid, etc.
