Wellesley College students urged to get a life beyond computer screen

Wellesley College, the women’s college outside of Boston, is celebrating “FirstClass Offline” on Feb. 3 in an attempt to get students to meet face to face with the people they’ve been communicating with via the school’s FirstClass groupware system. Good “netiquette” is among the skills that the school hopes to instill in students.

The day’s activities are sponsored by the Mellon Residential Life Committee, which is funded through a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation for examining online discourse at the school.
