A reader wrote to ask what’s up with the neverending project, noting that worker sightings on the bridge have been rare of late.
We tried the town’s fancy new Q&A system but turns out that the DPW is also eagerly awaiting the project’s completiion and wrote “We have not been made aware of when the work will start up again.” We were directed to Mass Highway, but a couple of inquiries into that outfit have gone unanswered so far.
We’re not taking it as a good sign that on the Mass Highway website that project 94762, which started in 2003 and is shown as being set for completion this summer, is designated 72% complete. And then there’s this:
“Current Status: The contractor is in winter shutdown. (as of 03/13/2009)”
