Weston Road construction to start in Wellesley later this month

The Town is expected to begin reconstruction work on Weston Road between Route 9 and Linden Street on June 24. The Board of Public Works recently awarded a contract to Paolini Corp. of Newton, Mass. in the amount of $1,847,955 to complete the work. The initial phase of the project will include cold planing and repaving of Weston Road from Route 9 to Strathmore Road and the construction of a larger school pick up and drop off are behind Hardy School. This phase is to be completed before school resumes again in the fall. Later phases will include reconstruction of Weston Road from Strathmore Road to Linden Street, installation of upgraded pedestrian crossing signals and construction of a right turn only land at the intersection of Linden Street All work is expected to be completed by June, 2010. Construction delays are to be expected. Motorists should seek alternate routes if possible.
