Latest sign of the times in Wellesley: no loaners

Lee Volvo is temporarily not offering loaner cars to customers who need to drop off their vehicles to have work done on them. The cost-cutting move was made in part to save jobs. The car dealer is, however, still offering customers rides to/from their homes/work after dropping off their cars for service.

Wellesley police report bank robbery suspects caught

Two suspects were nailed following a bank robbery in Needham today, and authorities believe these half-brothers might be connected to the U30 Bandit robberies in Wellesley and elsewhere in recent months. An investigation is underway.

Wellesley police investigate chimney sweeping scam

It’s a dirty job, but… in this case the cops say a $49 chimney sweeping deal sounded too good to be true. A resident says high pressure sales tactics ensued, as did an eventual $2,000 bill.
