Wellesley restaurant revival: Milestone to replace Vidalia's

A sign in the window of what was Vidalia’s restaurant in Wellesley Square trumpets the coming of a new place called Milestone (does sound more upscale than the old diner).

Vidalia’s shut down in January of 2008, and owner Mitchell Maxwell said in interviews shortly afterward that he was working with investors to open a new place in the spot. He is owner of Maxwells 148 in Natick.

Wellesley is experiencing a restaurant revival, with Bobby’s set to open in Lower Falls on Washington Street and Singh’s Cafe replacing Vela (which recently had a sign on the door referencing the restaurant being on vacation) at 312 Washington Street/Rte 16.
