Venture firm Bessemer to bid Wellesley farewell

Bessemer Venture Partners, which has offices on Walnut Street in Wellesley and has been in town  since the early 1980s, is now looking to relocate to Cambridge, which is a hot spot for  social networking, software and life sciences startups. Partner Chris Gabrieli, who ran for governor of Massachusetts in 2006, confirmed to us that the firm would leave Wellesley, not split itself between here and Cambridge. Bessemer has invested in companies such as Staples, Skype and Gartner Group over the years.
