Wellesley College, Babson rank well on US News & World Report list

Wellesley College tied for 4th on the US News & World Report ranking of top Liberal Arts colleges, while Babson College kept its 14-year streak alive as the top ranked entrepreneurship program. The magazine’s survey is sliced and diced in so many ways that it seems most schools get listed one way or another.

Timber! There goes another Wellesley tree

I’m sure new trees are being planted in Wellesley, which is good, because it seems like an awful lot of them have been going down of late. This non-so-healthy one is on Forrest Street in front of Babson College. Wellesley’s DPW was hard at work chopping it up when we went by.

Wellesley College, Babson name commencement speakers

Wellesley College alum Lynn Sherr, a former ABC News and 20/20 correspondent, will deliver the commencement address at the college on May 28. Separately, Babson College’s new grads will be addressed by William Strickland, head of Manchester Bidwell, on May 15 at their commencement ceremony.

Pulitzer Prize winner Jhumpa Lahiri to speak in Wellesley

Jhumpa Lahiri, who received the Pulitzer Prize in 2000 for Interpreter of Maladies, visits Babson College’s Knight Auditorium on March 10, 6-8pm. Her other works include The Namesake and Unaccustomed Earth. Her speaking engagement is free to attend by the public, but registration is requested by the Center for Women’s Leadership at Babson College.

Babson College grads to don “green” caps and gowns

Babson hosting Chernobyl Children

The Bernon Center for Public Service at Babson College is sponsoring the Chernobyl Children’s Project on the school’s Wellesley campus Thursday, July 9th. Over 60 children affected by the Chernobyl disaster will be attending arts and crafts, games and sports activities from 4-6 PM on the Upper Fields.
